Biden: Strong jobs show economic plan working Reflecting on sizzling new U.S. jobs numbers, President Joe Biden says his "economic plan is working." The government said Friday that employers added 517,000 jobs last month and the unemployment rate dipped to 3.4%, the lowest level since 1969. (Feb. 3) FARMINGTON — Despite a bump in joblessness in the state's four population centers, the unemployment rate across New Mexico remained steady in January, coming in at 3.5% again, the same figure as in December.
