A Dulce woman has been sentenced to five years in prison after pleading guilty to voluntary manslaughter earlier this year in connection with a 2022 incident in which she struck a man in the head with a snow shovel. According to a news release from the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of New Mexico, 38-year-old Laurice Montoya, a member of the Jicarilla Apache Nation, entered a guilty plea to the charge on May 4.
