Although anyone in San Juan County with an unimpeded view of the sky should be able to see this weekend's annular solar eclipse for themselves — weather permitting, of course — a San Juan College astronomy professor is offering residents the chance to enjoy the experience under enhanced circumstances. David Mayeux, the director of the San Juan College Planetarium is planning an eclipse viewing event from 9 a.m. to shortly after noon on Saturday, Oct. 14. With New Mexico, and San Juan County, falling in the path of annularity, those who join Mayeux in the courtyard outside the Planetarium on the college campus, 4601 College Blvd.
