An annular solar eclipse will cross the United States in October and New Mexico is in the direct path of the eclipse. According to NASA, the annular eclipse will happen on Oct. 14, 2023. The eclipse will be seen across New Mexico starting in the northwest part of the state and ending in southeast New Mexico. The cities of Farmington, Albuquerque, Roswell, and Hobbs will have the best view seeing about 90% of the eclipse. Areas outside the path of the eclipse will be able to see about 80% of the eclipse.
